最近想起了Travis(戴維斯樂團)的Song To Self(唱給自己聽)這首歌。Travis是一支給我很多感觸的樂團，1999年他們以The Man Who這張專輯在英國拿到9張白金認證，一舉成為英搖的指標樂團，緊接著01年的The Invisible Band專輯銷售也開出紅盤，可說紅極一時。
不過Travis也只紅了那幾年，從03年的專輯12 Memories開始，Travis的聲勢明顯下滑。上一張專輯Ode To J. Smith，我認為比過去Travis任何一張專輯出色，卻只在英國專輯榜拿到第20名，也沒有任何單曲打進單曲榜前10，許多音樂榜更是連Travis的影子都看不到。

現在，Travis更老早被年輕人遺忘了。
就也是為什麼有些人說，趁紅的時候專輯能多賣幾張就多賣幾張，畢竟像Coldplay這樣出道至今12年還能維持聲勢不墜的樂團，實在是沒多少個。即便是近年也面臨聲勢下滑的英搖天團Keane和Oasis，作品仍在歐洲有相當市場。Travis實在是爬的太快，也跌落的太快。
Song To Self是我相當喜歡的一首歌，雖然它在YouTube的點閱量只剩下20多萬。喜歡的不單是這首歌的旋律，還有那情感真摯的歌詞，讓我想到自己，也讓我想到這支樂團的興衰跟現在的處境，彷彿真的只能唱給自己聽。
