前紅襪雙星之一，現為道奇隊的重砲Manny Ramírez(曼尼)，最近也捲入禁藥風波，近日的第一階段禁藥檢測呈現陽性反應，並沒有通過，被處以禁賽50場的處分，而Manny也於稍後決定放棄上訴的權利，最要也要等到七月才能歸隊。

本次事件，除了Manny個人賠上名聲之外，對道奇隊來說，雖然於停賽期間可以免付Manny龐大的薪資，但少了這門重砲，依舊損失慘重。

而這次Manny Ramírez捲入禁藥風波，究竟是服了什麼藥物導致藥檢沒通過，大家都想問，雖然目前小道消息頻傳，實情卻仍須作進一步調查才能真正釐清(官方目前說法是因為使用PED)。但禁賽已成事實，為繼洋基隊超級球星金童A-Rod之後，於球壇之間再度投下一顆震撼彈，回想起之前大嘴巴Canseco講過的一席話，現在更令人多了一絲遐想和無奈。

許多球迷不禁想問：「那到底還有多少未爆彈？大聯盟有多少強打是真的清清白白的?」「104人名單裡到底還有哪些球星？」其實球迷們要的東西很簡單，可以理解你低潮，球打不好，但難以接受球員服用類固醇藥物打球。當去年A-Rod創下生涯累積全壘打新的紀錄里程碑時，球迷們相當振奮，因為這個紀錄是由乾乾淨淨的A-Rod所創下的，但是今年年初爆出A-Rod使用類固醇之後，許多球迷心都碎了，沒想到幾個月後，常被拿來與A-Rod相提並論的Manny，也捲入禁藥風波，雖然目前還未傳出有使用類固醇或是生長激素等藥物(目前來講也許是不幸中的大幸)，但依舊叫人心驚膽跳。

我們希望Manny Ramírez是三振條款被懲處的最後一個打擊好手，但他會是最後一個嗎?其實誰都沒有把喔。

"Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue.He gave me a medication, not a steroid,which he thought was OK to give me," Ramirez said.

"Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy.Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility.I have been advised not to say anything more for now.

"I do want to say one other thing;I've taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons.

I want to apologize to [Dodgers owner Frank] McCourt, Mrs. McCourt,[manager Joe] Torre, my teammates, the Dodger organization,and to the Dodger fans.

LA is a special place to me and I know everybody is disappointed.So am I. I'm sorry about this whole situation."
