上個月美國金屬搖滾樂團Linkin Park(聯合公園)發行了他們第四張專輯A Thousand Sun (烈日千陽)，如預期，這張專輯繳出相當不錯的銷售成績，不但再度在美國Billboard 200拿到冠軍，短短一個多月也陸續在德、英等許多國家拿到白金和金認證，再次證明了他們依舊是世界指標搖滾天團。
這張專輯在美國原版一共有15首歌，目前主打的有The Catalyst和Waiting for the End這兩支單曲，其中專輯第四首歌Robot Boy(機器人男孩)雖然沒做成單曲，但卻是很多歌迷心中的愛歌，我也非常喜歡。
以Linkin Park的歌來說，Robot Boy和之前的作品如Shadow Of The Day和The Little Things Give You Away等歌一樣，並不算特別rock，甚至算是比較抒情的，主唱也用比較舒服的聲調在詮釋這首歌。鍵盤樂器聲開頭的Robot Boy，前半段吉他的角色不吃重，但solo跟歌中後半段的部分，則用效果器作出大量相當特別的音色，跟旋律的搭配出乎預期的好，聽起來相當暢快。
歌詞意境來說，這首歌在小小的哀傷中又帶有勵志向前的意味，So hold on the weight of the world will give you the strength to go，是的，不論有多少哀傷，你都得堅持下去！
