昨天在KTV的歌本上看到了Eric Clapton的Tears in Heaven(淚灑天堂)，又讓我想到了這首經典名曲。
這首歌大有來頭，這是吉他大師Eric Clapton在1993年葛萊美獎的得獎作品(當時在葛萊美囊括Song of the Year, Record of the Year和Male Pop Vocal Performance三項大獎)，堪稱Eric Clapton生涯最成功的一首歌(收錄在92年的Unplugged專輯，當年這張專輯在The Billboard 200拿到冠軍)。
Tears in Heaven曾攻上Billboard Hot 100第二名，也在American adult contemporary chart拿到三週冠軍，為Unplugged這張專輯裡表現最亮眼的一首歌。
這首歌如果沒注意歌詞的話，乍聽之下可能會誤認為描寫男女情事的情歌，但其實這首歌是Eric Clapton為了紀念他死去的兒子所寫的。他兒子Conor在1991年意外墜樓身亡，當時只有四歲，這個意外讓Eric Clapton難過許久，後來就寫成了這首歌，來紀念他的兒子。
如果爸爸也來到天堂，你是否叫得出爸爸的名字? 認不認得我? 但就算可以也沒有用，因為我並不屬於天堂，我只能堅強的撐過喪子後的痛苦時光，不再流淚。
這首感人的歌後來也確實大放異彩，曾被收錄在電影Rush原聲大碟中，更是彈木吉他的經典歌曲(有人諭為彈木吉他的國歌)。
